Eric Heights (born Eric Alvarez) is a director and cinematographer living in Los Angeles, California. Born in LA, Eric transplanted to Colorado and Arizona where he videotaped urban landscapes, graffiti, and street muralist in action. Eric has directed and produced over 50 music videos from 2010-2012 where he developed his cinematic style and was voted Best Music Video Director by Denver Westword Magazine. Artists include Silkk The Shocker, Dumfoundead, Aceyalone, Kay Cola, JNatural, Rass Kass, DJ KSLY, DJ Chonz, Tony Sans, Foci, Catchlungs, Jamal Christopher, 2M2X, Qualmes, Rheteric Ramirez, Kwoda, Slik D, Ten G Bob, Spoke In Wordz, The Parker Boys, Deca, Guerilla Garden, Prime Element, and Rakaa Iriscience.
Eric previously directed two graffiti documentaries, Feel Mode 1 (2007) and the sequel Feel Mode 2 (2009). Art Battle LA (2012) is Eric’s third documentary which premiered on KCET’s Open Call series in Southern California.
